About HGS Virtual Classroom

The HGS Virtual Classroom is an online meeting room for instructor and students. The virtual classroom software - Jigsaw Interactive is used by HGS - allows for talk, chat, slide presentation, video viewing, audio file playback, polling, testing, drawing, application sharing, and screen sharing by the instructor and/or student. The virtual classroom is used for all HGS synchronous classes, for instructor-led LIVE! Sessions during orientation, and may be used, at the discretion of the instructor, as a component of asynchronous classes. Thus, all students must be familiar with the virtual classroom environment.

Students enter the virtual classroom through the virtual school. Entry to the classroom will vary depending upon the configuration of the virtual classroom. (The variation is explained in the orientation video below.) Students should end their virtual class daily by first exiting the virtual classroom software (i.e., Jigsaw) then logging out of the virtual school software (i.e., Canvas).

The orientation video below covers entry into the virtual classroom, using virtual classroom software features, and leaving HGS daily. Students should have completed HGS Virtual School orientation before watching the video below.
