HGS LIVE!

Meet your instructor LIVE!

Attend a LIVE! Instructor-led Orientation Session

As a part of online orientation, students are required to attend a LIVE! Session, instructor-led, for each HGS spring semester start class in which they are enrolled. Students who cannot attend the sessions in-person must do so online. During the LIVE! Session students will meet with the course instructor and other students attending the class. As a part of the session, the instructor will discuss class policy and procedures, how the class will "work", and answer students' questions about the class.

For students who cannot attend the in-person sessions, all LIVE! Sessions will be held in a Governor's School Virtual Classroom. Jigsaw Interactive software is used for the HGS Virtual Classroom. Therefore, before attending a Live! Session, a student should have completed the HGS Virtual Classroom portion of Orientation Spring 2023. (All students are required to complete HGS Virtual Classroom, which consist of reading the page and watching the virtual classroom orientation video.)

How to Attend

LIVE! Sessions will be held according to the schedule shown in the tables below. On the day of the live session, and during the time of a particular session, the class name in the table below will be a link to the LIVE! Session. To attend the session, simply click on the name of the class in which one is enrolled. A new page will open. One must then type their name and email address (any email address...does not have to be a HGS email address) in a couple of self-explanatory dialog boxes, then follow the prompts to enter the HGS Virtual Classroom.

Watch the video below for a demonstration of attending a HGS LIVE! session. Please Note: The video illustrates LIVE! Session attendance for fall 2020 onine orientation sessions. The Live! Session attendance procedure for spring 2023 online semester orientation is identical to that shown in the video.

Complete Remaining Tasks

After reviewing the LIVE! Sessions schedule and/or attending a HGS LIVE! Session, please return to the Orientation Home page and complete all remaining orientation tasks. In addition to attending a LIVE! Session, Step 5, each student must complete

HGS LIVE! Instructor-led Sessions

On the day/time of the live sessions the class name in the table below will be a link to the session. You will click on the link to attend the LIVE! Session (Unless otherwise noted as a Zoom meeting by the inclusion of a Zoom meeting ID, make-up sessions in the table use the HGS Virtual Classroom software - Jigsaw - noted above. Information entry, such as email address, may be required to enter a HGS Virtual Classroom/Jigsaw meeting.)
