The Holton Governor's School Biology class will be holding its required Fall 2021 Lab Day field trips on Wednesday, November 10^th and Tuesday, November 16^th. All students currently enrolled in Biology fall semester classes are eligible to attend. Students will work with their instructor to determine which date to attend. The lab day will be held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Abingdon, Virginia.

Biology students are required to attend this educational adventure, not only for the learning experience and the social interaction with their peers, but to fulfill the requirements for dual enrollment.

In order to make the lab day a safe and enjoyable learning experience for everyone, all students will be required to abide by the following:

• Students will be required to wear a mask covering mouth and nose at all times regardless of vaccination status. Gloves and goggles will be provided by HGS and must be worn at all times when students are interacting with the dissection specimens.
• Students will observe 6 feet of social distancing at all times – no lab pairs or groups will be permitted. Anatomic models and/or specimens will be placed in individual stations, and only one student will be allowed at each station at a time. Shared equipment will be cleaned between students.

To attend the lab day field trip, a student's parent or legal guardian must complete, sign, and return to the Governor's School, with the document received at the Governor's School Office no later than Monday, November 8^th, the following:

• ALHGS Participant Waiver and Hold Harmless Form
• Biology Lab Safety Policies
